The Plants
The Plants
Every Amauizon formula begins with a plant and the people who have kept its company for generations. These are our allies.
Bobinsana (Calliandra angustifolia)
The pink-flowering tree that leans over Amazonian rivers, cherished in Peruvian plant tradition for matters of the heart. We grow ours at Living Miracle Gardens on Maui. Found in: HEART, Bobinsana Honey, Bobinsana Rose Cacao, Bobinsana Leaf & Flowers tea, Cosmic Bridge, AMA Corazón.
Kanna (Sceletium tortuosum)
The South African succulent traditionally chewed by the Khoikhoi and San peoples to brighten the spirit on long walks. Found in: FLOW, Kanna Honey, Kanna + Ashwagandha, Kanna Turmeric, Cosmic Bridge.
Blue Lotus (Nymphaea caerulea)
The sacred water lily of the Nile, depicted in Egyptian art for millennia and enjoyed for relaxation and dream-rich evenings. Found in: DREAM, Blue Lotus Honey, Blue Lotus of the Nile flowers, Blue Lotus + Mugwort tea, AMA Bliss.
Guayusa (Ilex guayusa)
The wild Amazonian holly leaf, traditionally brewed before dawn by Kichwa families for clean, focused energy. Ours is harvested sustainably by tribal families in Ecuador. Found in: FOCUS, Guayusa Honey, Jungle Energy, Neural Ignition, AMA Clarity.
Caapi Vine (Banisteriopsis caapi)
The “vine of the soul” of Amazonian tradition — we grow the yellow variety on Maui, hand-harvested and freeze-dried for traditional decoction. Found in: Yellow Caapi Vine tea.
Mulungu (Erythrina mulungu)
The Brazilian “quiet tree,” its bark traditionally prepared for evening stillness.
Cacao (Theobroma cacao)
Heirloom ceremonial cacao from Camino Verde, Ecuador — certified organic, direct trade, grown in regenerative agroforestry. The heart-opener of the Andes and Mesoamerica. Found in: the AMA Cacao line and our cacao elixirs.
